Are you allowed to fire and hire a lawyer during the court in session?

In the movie Legally Blonde, Brooke Taylors is being accused of murdering her husband. Halfway through the trial, Brooke decides to change her lawyer to a law student at Harvard, an internship, Elle Woods. Are you allowed to change your lawyer halfway through the trial, while the court is in session?|||Yes. But you may not be allowed to let your new lawyer get up to speed. And in some cases a judge would say no because it would be impossible to get a trial going while your attorney didn't know what it was all about. However in general you get the lawyer you choose (if you are paying) and you can exercise that right at any time.

If you change your lawyer for a good reason, the court will usually delay proceedings to allow the lawyer to get up to speed. If you do it arbitrarily the court can refuse to do that. In rare circumstances the court could refuse to excuse your attorney but would allow another attorney to step in as "lead" attorney.|||under certain situations , like they are NOT protecting you to the best of their abilities.

I doubt the student can act as a lawyer not having a license yet
