How did manifest destiny in combination with slavery issue contribute to session and civil war?

THANK YOU!|||Manifest destiny contributed to secession and the Civil War by bringing the slavery issue to the forefront. 1) Everytime a state entered the Union, there was a negociation over slavery. 2) There were additional negociations handling slaves who crossed borders, and 3) By reducing labor competition in the Northeast, wages would rise everywhere and the problems of unemployment and poverty would be remedied without new taxes, government charity, or worker uprisings. Western expansion seemed the perfect way to revitalize society. Slavery made this impossible.
