I have to install a program that runs a telnet session to interface a main server. What should i consider?

I'm trying to install a program that runs a telnet session to interface a main server. What do I need to know before setting up the session?|||Telnet is built into Windows. To connect to a server, you merely need to type "Telnet *hostname*" into a command prompt.





Putty is another program you can use if you want to save your password and other settings. Download that here:

However, be very careful, as telnet is a completely open protocol. usernames, passwords, and content are passes in clear text. It is possible for people to see exactly what is happening.
