What are the 3 most important factors of a good tutoring session?

My school is starting up a new tutoring program for younger students. Any advice would be helpful.

What do you consider to be the three most important factors of a good tutoring session? Explain why these factors are important and how you would incorporate them in a session.|||Making sure that you are clear, consise and understandable.

It helps to be relatable to the student or the subject. Sometimes using real life scenarios and not necessarily book lessons.

Making sure that the student is actually learning and understanding and not just saying that they are (plenty of hands on, and examples). Its easy for kids to give up when they dont understand and say "I understand"..let them prove it!|||explain the work dont just do it for them and say "do you get it" i regret me saying yes when i really didnt get it also try to be friendly you dont want to make a student angry and thats all I got|||1. low ratio of students to teacher - My kids complain that they can't ask questions if there are too many kids.

2. be subject, grade, or age specific - There is no point putting kids together that are on totally different planes of learning.

3. be optimistic and upbeat - Students don't want to feel like they are going to a dummy session.|||Teach them something new, make sure they pay attention, and make sure they get it. %26lt;Explains itself.=)
