What does a hiring session for Union Pacific Railroad consist of?

Do I have to take a drug test the same day? After the hiring session what's the next step in the hiring process?|||Hi there, I just happened to be browsing through some of the opened questions and saw yours. Sorry it has taken so long for someone to respond. I have never been to a UP hiring session, but I have been to the BNSF and NS hiring sessions. They both were pretty much the same, so I would assume the UP's is the same as well. First you will be in a class room setting with other candidates and the job being applied for will be explained in great detail. After that, you will have to take some sort of apptitude test. You then will have your one on one interviews. After that you will be given a drug test, and most likely it will be a hair follicle test. They test up to the last 3-6 months I believe. If you cannot pass the drug test, wait to apply until you know you can pass. If you flunk it, you will never be given another chance. After all of the interviews and tests are completed, you will have to wait for them to contact you which could take a week or 6 months. Hopefully this helps.

Good Luck
