How do I become a live session drummer?

I have been playing drums for 10 years and, without sounding arrogant, believe I am pretty good at what I do. I want to take it further than just playing in bands around Melbourne and I know this industry is based around reputation, which I also believe I have developed. I would like to be a live session musician but have no idea how to break into this part of the industry. How would I get a job as a session drummer on Australian Idol, or the X Factor for example?|||Join a try out.
